49er Athletic Club Golf Classic to be held next Monday

The 49er Athletic Club will host its annual golf tournament on Monday, November 5 at prestigious Virginia Country Club in Long Beach. The 49er Athletic Club Golf Classic has traditionally raised thousands of dollars as one of the department's biggest events each year for Long Beach State student-athlete scholarships for over 350 young men and women.
This year's tournament, which sold out almost two months prior to the event, will feature a first-class experience in one of the most memorable golf environments in the state.
Golfers will be treated to an 18-hole shamble format tournament on the pristine layout of VCC, which is located in the Bixby Knolls area of Long Beach. Opened in 1909, Virginia Country Club is one of the most sought-after rounds of golf in Southern California due to its privacy and prestige.
The general public can attend the banquet and dinner portion of the event, scheduled to be from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. which will include a whiskey tasting courtesy of Young's Market Company, a full banquet dinner, raffle drawings and the announcement of the popular Masters/Final Four trip.
A few raffle tickets still remain for a 1 in 500 opportunity to win a sports dream vacation for two to attend the 2013 Masters and Final Four in Georgia from April 5-15, 2013. Raffle tickets are $100 each and only 500 total tickets will be sold. Raffle ticket owners do not have to be present at the Golf Classic dinner to win. All proceeds from the raffle will benefit the student-athlete scholarship fund.
