Casper Ware and Edis Dervisevic had a weekend they won't soon forget. The pair of 49ers were joined by NBA superstar LeBron James on their Los Angeles Pro-Am Drew League team in a game on Saturday (July 23).
"When I found out LeBron was coming I didn't believe it at first," Ware said. "But when they started putting more time on the clock for us to warm up, that's when I knew for sure that he was coming."
Ware, the reigning Big West Conference Player of the Year, made the most of the experience finishing with 22 points, six rebounds and three steals. James finished with 30 points.
"It was great," Ware added about his opportunity to play alongside James. "I felt like we had been playing with each other longer than one game. He was easy to talk to and he didn't want the ball every possession."
"(LeBron) was a real good guy, but I told Casper he needed to show some teammate love and pass me the ball first!" Dervisevic said while laughing.
Asked whether passing to Edis or LeBron was a tough choice, Ware said "Yeah, it is," before laughing.
