Long Beach, Calif. - Beginning with the Homecoming week festivities next week, Long Beach State will display some of its great history inside of the Walter Pyramid. An 85-foot long banner, made possible by one of LBSU's valued corporate partners and 49er Athletic Club supporters, will be a permanent fixture on the south wall of the iconic arena. The new signage will feature former student-athletes from men's volleyball, women's volleyball, women's basketball, and men's basketball - all sports that compete inside the Pyramid.

Ability Tri-Modal is the official sponsor of the display, which is expected to transform the atmosphere inside of the Walter Pyramid and the experience of the fans attending 49er athletic events. The banner will also be highly-visible during television broadcasts, allowing the networks to better highlight Long Beach State's illustrious history on the volleyball court and the hardwood.
"This piece will represent some of the greatest student-athletes to ever wear a 49er uniform," said Dedan Brozino, Assistant Athletics Director. "Ability Tri-Modal has provided us an opportunity to impact the overall appearance of our arena through representing some of our highly-decorated alums and some of our program's greatest memories."
Ability Tri-Modal is a privately-owned, third generation privately held trucking, warehousing and distribution company that has serviced the Southern California gateway for international cargo since 1947. The Tri-Modal management team, and President Josh Owen, is active in several community organizations including the Long Beach, Newport Beach, and Sunrise Rotary. In 2006, Ability Tri-Modal was awarded the Business of the Year Award by the city of Carson.
"This addition to the Walter Pyramid provides an opportunity for Ability Tri-Modal to leave a positive impact on Long Beach State Athletics and the experience that the Long Beach community has while attending 49er athletic events," said Owen.
