Long Beach State closes out action at USC Fall Tournament

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Long Beach State men's volleyball team finished the USC Fall Tournament with a 5-1 record as it defeated Stanford, Cal Baptist and Lewis before falling to Pacific on Saturday.
Matches were the best of three sets with the first two played to 25 points and the third to 15 points. If a match was decided after two sets, the teams could elect to play the third set.
The 49ers began the day with a 21-25, 31-29, 15-9 win over Stanford. Senior Srdjan Nadazdin finished with a team-high 18 kills. Sophomore Jeff Ornee also totaled eight points (6 kills, 2 blocks), while freshman John LaRusch and junior Kyle McElderry chipped in seven points each.
LBSU also defeated Cal Baptist (25-19, 25-18, 16-14) and Lewis (25-17, 25-21, 15-11), before falling to Pacific (22-25, 21-25, 16-14).
Long Beach State continues the fall season when it hosts the LBSU Tournament on Oct. 22.
