LONG BEACH - Long Beach State sophomore forward Nadia Link earned national recognition for her performance last week as she was tabbed the CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Player of the Week the website announced Tuesday.
Link was also named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Women's College Team of the Week.
Link played a key role in LBSU's three wins during the week of Aug. 23-29. Link saved her best performance for last, finding the back of the net twice as the 49ers knocked off 16th-ranked Virginia Tech, 2-1.
Long Beach State vaulted into the Soccer America Top 25, coming in at No. 24 in the most recent poll. The 49ers were also receiving votes in the NSCAA poll and were ranked fourth in the West Region.
The Beach returns to George Allen Field this weekend when it plays host to Utah State (Sept. 3) and Sacramento State (Sept. 5).
