Long Beach, Calif. - Former Dirtbag infielders Troy Tulowitzki and Evan Longoria were both selected for the 2010 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, which will be played on July 13 at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, Calif.
This the third straight All-Star selection for Longoria, who was voted by fans as the starter at third base for the American League for the second year running.
Longoria currently is hitting .294 with 12 home runs, 12 stolen bases, 56 RBI and 24 doubles. He was a winner of both the Silver Slugger and Gold Glove awards after the 2009 season.
Tulowitzki's selection is the first for the Colorado Rockies shortstop, who finished fifth in the National Leauge MVP voting in 2009.
Tulowitzki was named to the team through player voting, despite being injured and being unable to play in the contest. He is batting a career-best .306 with 9 home runs and 34 RBI this season.
With Tulowitzki joining Longoria on the All-Star team, the Dirbags have now had four former players named as all-stars, with the 2010 pair joining Steve Trachsel and Jason Giambi as MLB All-Stars.
Both Longoria and Tulowitzki played together on the 2005 Long Beach State team.
