LONG BEACH - Sophomores Matt Maldonado and Stephanie Glick were recently selected to Long Beach State's President's Ambassadors Program.
Maldonado and Glick went through a three-stage application process which included a resume, interview and social mixer, and were two out of many applicants who made the program.
"I am really happy to have been selected out of all of the students who applied," said Maldonado. "I'm extremely excited to represent the University on this level."
President's Ambassadors serve as official student representatives on behalf of the University and the University President at a variety of campus and community functions, including the Alumni Awards Banquet, Jewels of the Night and Kaleidoscope. They are role models of professionalism, hospitality, character and Beach Pride.
"It is an honor to be selected for President's Ambassador and I'm looking forward to the opportunities of becoming more involved in the University as well as my participation in athletics," said Glick. "Athletics is a big component of the University atmosphere and I hope to be able to bring that presence into the President's Ambassadors Program."
Glick, an exercise science major, was also recently chosen as this year's recipient of the Kinesiology Beach Scholarship Award for her achievements in academics and involvement in community service.
