
49ers complete second round at U.S. Intercollegiate

STANFORD, Calif. - The Long Beach State men's golf team improved by 17 shots in the second round of the U.S. Intercollegiate to finish with a 289 to tie for 15th place with Washington State.
Third ranked Washington and No. 33 San Diego State leads the field of 20 teams with a two-over 562 as both the Huskies and Aztecs hold a one stroke lead over No. 6 Oregon (563) and two strokes over No. 14 Southern California (564).
Freshman Benjamin Lein led the way for the 49ers as he carded an even 70 in the second round to tie for 37th.
Sophomore Kevin Roy shot a 74 to tie for 63rd, while senior Robbie Berton recorded a 78 to tie for 74th and senior Michael Drake finished with a 73 to tie for 83rd.
Freshman Raymond Ho carded a 72 to tie for 91st.
Nick Taylor of Washington sits on top of the leaderboard at four-under (136) and holds a one shot lead over two players tied for second place.
Final round action concludes on Tuesday as teams will begin the morning with a shotgun start beginning at 7:30 a.m. Live action can be followed on golfstat.
