Three 49ers named to NSCAA All-West Region Team

LONG BEACH - Three 49ers were named to the All-West Region Team the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has announced. Senior Lindsay Bullock was named to the first team, while senior Bo Rael and junior Shawna Gordon were third-team selections.
Bullock garnered her third All-West Region honor after finishing the season with seven goals, two assists and 16 points. She also had a team-high 58 shot attempts. The Manhattan Beach native has etched her name in the 49er record books, ranking third in shots (196) and game-winning goals (7), and fifth in goals (26) and points (56). Bullock was also a first-team All-Big West selection and was tabbed the Big West Midfielder of the Year for the second time in her career.
Rael picked up her first all-region honor after a stellar senior season. The Rancho Cucamonga native started every game as a defender and anchored a back line that posted a 1.02 goals against average. Rael also played a key role on the offensive end, compiling two goals (one game-winner) and one assist. Her game-winning goal came in a 1-0 victory over 11th-ranked UC Irvine, which gave the 49ers their first-ever Big West Tournament championship. Rael was an All-Big West second-team selection.
Gordon was also named to the All-West Region Team for the first time in her career. The Rancho Cucamonga native compiled four goals, a team-high seven assists and 15 points on the season. She ranks among the 49er career leaders in game-winning goals (4) and assists (14). Gordon was a first-team All-Big West selection.
Long Beach State recently concluded one of its finest seasons in program history. The 2010 squad tied the school record with 14 victories, won its first Big West Tournament championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three years.
