49ers sweep McMaster University in two-court scrimmage

LONG BEACH - The Long Beach State men's volleyball team swept McMaster University in a two-court scrimmage Friday afternoon at the Walter Pyramid.
The teams split into two squads for a pair of best-of-three matches. On Court 1, LBSU toppled McMaster, 25-19, 25-8. The 49ers were also successful on Court 2, winning 25-18, 26-24.
After both courts were finished the two teams squared off in another best-of-three match with their full squads. Long Beach State was victorious again with a 25-17, 25-16 win.
Long Beach State returns to the Walter Pyramid on Monday, Jan. 3, when it closes out its exhibition schedule against Alberta at 7 p.m. The 49ers officially kick off the 2011 season at the UCSB Invitational (Jan. 7-8).
