
Weather cancels final round of Royals Oaks Intercollegiate

DALLAS, Texas - Final round play of the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate in Dallas, Texas was cancelled on Tuesday due to persistent heavy rains and lightning in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Long Beach State finished in 12th place at 22-over 590. LBSU recorded rounds of 296 and 294 on Monday at the Royal Oaks Country Club.
Iowa was awarded the team championship with the Hawkeyes scoring at 17-under par 551. Texas A&M finished in second, five shots behind and Arkansas was third at 13 strokes behind Iowa.
Sophomore Benjamin Lein was the top player for the 49ers, finishing with a 1-over 143 (71-72), tying for 23rd.
Sophomore Philip Chian recorded rounds of 72 and 77 to finish at 7-over 149 to tie for 52nd, while classmates Raymond Ho (74-77) and Kevin Lim (79-72) tied for 62nd with a 9-over 151. Junior Austin Love is one shot back at 10-over 152 after recording rounds of 79 and 73 to tie for 65th.
Vince India of Iowa won individual medalist honors with a 10-under 132.
The 49ers return to action for their last tournament of the fall season, traveling to San Martin for the Gifford Collegiate Championship, Nov. 8-10 in San Martin, Calif.
