LBSU drives to central coast for Lamkin Grip Invitational

LONG BEACH - The Long Beach State women's golf team prepares for their last tournament of the fall season, taking part in the Lamkin Grip Invitational hosted by Cal Poly. The two-day, 36-hole tournament will take place at the par-73, 6,215-yard Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande, Calif.
Opening round will begin with a 12 p.m. shotgun start at on Monday (Nov. 1) and final round play concluding on Tuesday (Nov. 2) with split tee times from 7:51 to 9:57 a.m.
Seniors Lindsey McAtee and Reina Rogers, junior Monica Villarreal, sophomore Simone Hoey and freshman Rochelle Chan will represent the 49ers as they go up against 15 other teams that features Cal Poly, Idaho State UC Riverside, Cal State Bakersfield, Fresno State, Cal State San Marcos, Seattle, Northern Arizona, Sacramento State, Montana State, Santa Clara, Boise State, Weber State, Cal State Northridge and Southern Utah.
LBSU has been off for the last two-and-half weeks, last playing at the Dale McNamara Invitational in Owasso, Okla. The 49ers tied for 12th place in the 16-team field. Rogers was the top player for The Beach, finishing with a 16-over par 232, tying for 34th.
There will no live scoring from the Lamkin Grip Invitational. Results will be posted on LBSU's official athletic website, www.longbeachstate.com.
