LBSU Completes Big West Beach Volleyball Tournament

Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State hosted the 2009 Big West Beach Volleyball Tournament, an exhibition event held in Huntington Beach for the second consecutive year.
Five Big West teams were represented in total, competing in a two vs. two format in two divisions as well as a four vs. four format.
In doubles, Long Beach State's Caitlin Ledoux and Jocelyn Neely took top honors, defeating UC Irvine's team of Kari Pestolesi and McCall Miller in the gold Division. Fellow Anteaters Taryn Robertson and Larissa Nordyke finished third, while UC Santa Barbara's tandem of Dana Vargas and Rebecca Saraceno finished in fourth place in the Gold division.
In four-person team play, UC Davis claimed first place in pool play with an overall record of 7-1, outlasting two teams from Long Beach State, and squads from Pacific and UC Irvine. In the 4x4 team playoffs, Pacific was crowned the champion, defeating Long Beach State's "A" team in the finals.
