Robinson named Big West Conference Player of the Week

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Freshman T.J. Robinson has been named the Big West Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Robinson (West Haven, Conn./Kolbe Cathedral HS) averaged 24 points and 11 rebounds per game while making 69.6 percent (16-of-23) of his field goal attempts and 76.2 percent of his free throws (16-of-21).
Robinson scored a career-high 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in LBSU's loss to UC Davis on Thursday night. In that game he made 8-of-14 shots (57.1 percent) and 8-of-11 (72.7 percent) of his free throws.
On Saturday against Pacific, the freshman forward matched his career high with 24 points while grabbing 10 rebounds in The Beach's 81-80 double-overtime win. Robinson made 8-of-9 shots (88.9 percent) and 8-of-10 free throws (80 percent).
The player of the week honor is the first of the season for Robinson and the fourth of the year for a Long Beach State player. Senior Donovan Morris won it three times during non-league play.
