Long Beach State's heralded freshman class kept the 49ers in the game for most of the night. The four--T.J. Robinson, Larry Anderson, Casper Ware, Eugene Phelps--combined for 59 points and 35 rebounds.

The 49ers jumped out to an early 9-3 lead, holding UC Davis to just 1-of-8 shooting in the first 4:26. But then the wheels fell off for The Beach as the 49ers made just five of their next 25 shots to finish the half.
LBSU stayed in the game in the first half by crashing the boards and shooting free throws. LBSU out-boarded the Aggies 30-17, including 13 offensive rebounds.
Robinson finished the first half with a team-high 10 rebounds and nine points, despite making just 3-of-9 shots. Anderson added five boards and Phelps had four rebounds.
