49ers Top Cal Northridge, 74-68

Long Beach, Calif. (AP) - Donovan Morris scored 22 points and had seven rebounds to lead Long Beach State to a 74-68 victory over Cal Northridge on Saturday.
The win means the 49'ers (10-7, 5-0 Big West Conference) remain in first place and undefeated in conference play, a first since the 1999-2000 season. The Matadors (6-9, 3-2) dropped to 2-8 on the road. Larry Anderson also scored 13 points for Long Beach State and Casper Ware scored 10. Kenny Daniels scored 15 points and Tremaine Townsend scored 12 points and pulled down 16 rebounds for Northidge. The Matadors outrebounded Long Beach State 43-35 but shot only 36 percent. The 49'ers shot 50 percent for the game. |
