Miles Named Media Relations Director

LONG BEACH-- Long Beach State announced that Todd Miles, formerly the top assistant at Boise State, has been hired as the assistant athletics director for media relations for the 49ers.
Miles comes to Long Beach State from Boise State where he spent seven years working with the Broncos. While at Boise State, Miles served as the primary media relations contact for the men's basketball team while also handling numerous duties with the Broncos' nationally-ranked football team, including serving as the primary interview contact. He also worked with men's and women's golf and the cross country teams during a portion of his time at Boise State.
"We are excited to have Todd lead the 49er media relations team. He brings terrific experience and leadership to a sports informantion program that ranks as one of the nation's best," said Athletics Director Vic Cegles.
Before joining the Broncos, Miles spent four years as the Associate Athletic Director/Sports Information Director at Albertson College (now the College of Idaho). At Albertson, Miles handled media relations duties for the entire athletic department, while also serving as the school's athletic fundraiser and ticket manager.
During his time at both Boise State and Albertson, Miles worked on the radio for the Broncos and Coyotes. At Albertson, Miles served as the school's play-by-play announcer for both men's basketball and baseball. At Boise State, he provided color commentary for the men's basketball team and handled sideline reporting for the football team.
Miles started his professional career in television where he worked in both Coos Bay, Ore., and Boise, Idaho. In Coos Bay he anchored the 11 o'clock news and sports cut-in and in Boise he was the weekend sports anchor and weekday sports reporter. He also hosted a two-hour sports talk show on KTIK radio in 1997.
Miles graduated with a degree in Broadcasting from Gonzaga University in 1990 and earned his master's degree from Idaho State University in Athletic Administration in 2006.
Miles replaces Steve Janisch, who left the business after 25 years to pursue other opportunities in Florida.
