IRVINE--Long Beach State sophomore midfielder Lindsay Bullock (Manhattan Beach) was named the Big West Conference's Player of the Week following two goals and an assist in the team's win over Brigham Young (3-0) and tie to Oregon (3-3).
This is the first conference honor for Bullock, who has started the first 27 matches of her career at LBSU.
Last Friday, Bullock assisted on the 49ers first goal in the 27th minute against BYU, heading it to classmate Kristen Kiefer, before scoring herself in the 64th minute to put the contest out of reach. Bullock tallied her second goal of the weekend on Sunday, when she converted a penalty shot late in the first half.
Bullock currently ranks second in the Big West in points (9) and goals (4), sharing the ranking with Kiefer, who also has four goals.
The 49ers embark on a two weekend, four-match road trip to Utah and Arizona starting on Friday, and are currently 4-1-2 on the season. LBSU currently leads the Big West in scoring (2.4 goals per match), shutouts (4) and corner kicks (8.2) and ranks second in assists (2.1) and goals against average (0.94), after being picked to finish second in the conference during the preseason.
