FORT LAUDERDALE, FL-- Long Beach State midfielder Hayley Bolt (Lakewood) was named to Soccer Buzz' National Elite Team of the Week following a goal and two assists last week in the season opening win against Gonzaga.
The 49ers, who beat Hawaii 4-3 in overtime late last night in Honolulu, after twice trailing by two goals, are currently 2-0-0 on the season prior to their game against Denver on Friday.
Bolt is one of the most honored 49ers in school-history. The former Big West Freshman of the Year, was also named the conference's midfielder of the year in 2007. She is one of just five 49ers all-time to be named all-conference three times and one of just three players (Allison Wiegand and Kim Silos are the others) to be named to the first team twice in a career. She is a two-time all-region selection and was named third team Academic All-District as well.
This is Bolt's second career honor by Soccer Buzz, which has covered women's soccer exclusively since 1996.
