Long Beach, Calif. - Fresh off her second Olympic Gold Medal, former 49er star Misty May-Treanor takes on a new challenge as a member of the cast for the seventh season of Dancing with the Stars. She hopes to become the next champion of the long-running reality hit.
Just after repeating with Kerri Walsh as the Olympic Gold Medalists in beach volleyball, Long Beach State's two-time National Player of the Year steps into her dancing shoes as part of the ABC show. She joins Warren Sapp and Maurice Green as three athletes invited as part of 13 overall celebrity dancers on the program.
Other contestants include singers Lance Bass and Toni Braxton, Emmy-winning soap actress Susan Lucci, reality-show participant Kim Kardashian, television actor Ted McGinley, chef Rocco DiSpirito, television personality/model Brooke Burke and stand-up comedian Jeffrey Ross.
The cast was introduced today in New York, while the program itself debuts September 22 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
