Meet the 2008 Volleyball Team

LONG BEACH-- The Long Beach State Women's Volleyball team will be hosting a meet the team function at Outback Steakhouse at The Pike on Sunday, August 24 from 4-6pm. Come on out and meet the new and returning players and coaching staff prior to the start of the 2008 season. Complimentary appetizers will be provided.

Outback Steakhouse is located in downtown Long Beach at 20 West Shoreline Dr.

The 49ers, despite losing the services of four-time All-American Alexis Crimes, have a number of key players returning, including 1st-team All-Big West outside hitter Quincy Verdin, All-Big West honorable mention setter Nicole Vargas, and All-Freshman team opposite Ashley Lee. Those three starters will be joined by the nation's 10th-best recruiting class as named by PrepVolleyball.com.

They were picked to finish second in the Big West in the pre-season poll.
