Redshirt senior Kay Hoey captured the individual title by one stroke as she recorded a one-under 215 (71-73-71). EWART ON BIG WEST TOURNAMENT: "If we can play like we did in the final round up in Stanford a few weeks ago, then we can be in contention for the Big West," said 49er Head Coach Sue Ewart. "We'll be playing 36 holes the first day followed by 18 the following morning and if the girls can post three solid rounds we should be in the hunt. We've had a tough time getting out of the gate, but if we can play like our final rounds it should be exciting."
49ERS MAKE A COMEBACK AT STANFORD: LBSU concluded the regular-season at the Peg Barnard Invitational at Stanford University more than two weeks ago as the 49ers finished in 11th place. The Beach shot a 326 in the opening round and finished in last place (14th). The next day, LBSU improved by 25-shots as they climbed up in the standings to finish in 11th place. The 49ers' score of 301 was the sixth best score of the day. Brenda Chhuor emerged as the top individual for LBSU as she carded a 154 (79-75) to finish tied for 30th. Erin Cylke also made a impressive comeback as she went from being tied for 61st (84) to 35th as she shot an even-71 in the final round. Also, Reina Rogers improved by 16-shots as she recorded a 19-over 90 in the opening round and came back with a three-over 74 to finish with a 164.
49ER GOLF BANQUET: The 49er men's and women's golf teams will host a first-ever banquet that will take place on Saturday, May 10 at Smooth's Sports Bar & Grille on Pine Avenue in downtown Long Beach. Cost is $25 a person and you may also sponsor a player at the same price. Reception will begin at 3 p.m. For further information contact Dan Gooch at 562-896-0475.

Barrett's play in Eugene was her second top-20 finish this season as she tied for 20th at the Heather Farr Invitational last October. Overall, this was her sixth top-20 completion in her 49er career.
McATEE'S STREAK ENDS IN OREGON: Lindsey McAtee's 79th place finish at the Oregon Duck Invitational more than two weeks ago ended her four tournament streak as the top individual for LBSU. McAtee had led the 49ers since late October at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown and her season best performance at the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational in February as she shot a two-round total of 150 to tie for 20th place, marking her first top-20 finish.
