LONG BEACH - Sophomore midfielder Lindsay Bullock and senior midfielder Hayley Bolt continued to rack up the postseason awards as both were named to the NSCAA/adidas All-West Region team. Bullock was a second-team selection, while Bolt garnered third-team recognition.
Bullock (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) earned her first all-region honor after pacing the 49ers with a team-best 10 goals and 21 points. The 2008 Big West Conference Midfielder of the Year became just the second 49er to accumulate double-digit goals in a season since the program was reinstated in 1998.
Bolt (Lakewood, Calif.), meanwhile, tallied nine goals and two assists to finish second on the team with 20 points. The four-time all-Big West selection etched her name in the 49er record books as she closed out her career at the top of the charts with 269 shot attempts and finished fourth in goals (28), assists (18) and points (74). This marks the third straight year that Bolt has been tabbed as an all-region pick.
Long Beach State (14-5-4) recently capped off one of its best seasons in school history with its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament. In addition to reaching the national stage, the 49ers captured their third consecutive Big West regular season title after going undefeated in league play at 7-0-1.
