Long Beach State Continues NCAA Run

Long Beach State's 22nd consecutive NCAA appearance is scheduled to start Friday against Pepperdine, as announced by the NCAA Sunday evening. The 49ers will hit the road to face the Waves in Palo Alto, Calif., as Stanford and Albany round out the bracket.
Stanford University will play host to four teams for the opening two rounds of the NCAA tournament. The Beach is part of the first game on Friday, December 5, where the 49ers will face Pepperdine at 4:30 p.m. The second game will pit the host Cardinal against Albany at 7 p.m. or immediately following the first match.
The second round is scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m., where the winners from the first two games will meet for the right to advance to the regional round. The winner of that game will head to Fort Collins, Colo. to continue on in the tournament.

Also coming up in two weeks is the 2008 postseason banquet women's volleyball. Held on Dec. 15, the 49ers will honor their three departing seniors and Debbie Green, who is leaving after 23 years with the program. For more information and for reservations click here.
