Volleyball Signs High School Standout

Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State women's volleyball has announced that Sarah Clause has signed a letter of intent to play for Long Beach State in 2009. A 6'1" senior from Gilbert, Arizona, Clause will join The Beach next season.
An outside hitter for Gilbert High School, Clause has helped the Tigers maintain their standing as one of the best volleyball programs in the state of Arizona while tallying some impressive numbers. This season, as a senior, Clause racked up 348 kills on .457 hitting as well as adding 276 digs, and as a junior, she had 495 kills in more attempts while maintaining her high hitting percentage.
"Sarah is a good athlete," said Long Beach State head coach Brian Gimmillaro. "She's physically strong, and she also has the determination to be successful. Her work ethic will fit well within our program."
Clause will join a solid core of returning athletes for Long Beach State in 2009, joining 2008 starters Naomi Washington, Brittney Herzog, Caitlin Ledoux, Ashley Lee and Cat Highmark.
