Long Beach, Calif. - Alongside the festivities among Homecoming Weekend, Long Beach State will be hosting the Pyramid 5K Run/Walk and Junior 49er Youth Mile Challenge on Sunday, Nov. 23. Both events will be held on the campus of Long Beach State.
In a beautiful setting that is as much a park as a university the Long Beach State campus is a perfect place for runners, as shown by its inclusion in the Long Beach Marathon. The Pyramid 5K Run/Walk is designed to accommodate both seasoned and novice participants with a five-kilometer tour of one of the finest campuses in California.
Kids are also welcome for the event, in either the 5K or the Junior 49er youth mile challenge. Children will be able to do their best in the mile on the Jack Rose Track on the campus of Long Beach State.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Long Beach State track and field program as well as the CSULB Student Success fund through a partnership with the President's Ambassadors Program. For individual runners, prizes are available for the top three finishers by gender as well as the top two teams.
