Silos Named to National Team of the Week
Accolades Continue for 49er Junior

BERKELEY—Long Beach State forward Kim Silos (Ontario) was named to Soccer America’s National Team of the Week for the second time in her career, following Big West Player of the Week and Sooner Classic Offensive MVP honors earlier this week.

Silos tallied two goals and added three assists as the 49ers routed Middle Tennessse (5-1) and North Texas (5-0) by a combined total of 10-to-1 this past weekend. Silos two goals came against North Texas on Sunday, while her two assists were to Kristen Kiefer in Friday’s win over Middle Tennessee. North Texas had entered the tournament undefeated.

The 49ers (6-3-0), winners of four in a row, will try to match their longest winning streak in school-history, when they host No. 14-ranked USC (6-1-0) on Friday at 4 p.m. The Women of Troy will be the fourth top-25 opponent this season for the 49ers, as all three of the team’s losses were during a road stretch against Wake Forest, Clemson and BYU, earlier this month.
