Earns Player Of The Week Honors LONG BEACH – Senior middle blocker Alexis Crimes was named the Big West Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday. With a .373 hitting percentage in three matches, Crimes helped lead the 49ers to a 3-0 record on the weekend while earning MVP honors at the Pioneer Classic hosted by Denver University. Against Washington State she increased her hitting percentage to .371 on 35 attempts (19 kills, 6 errors). The Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., native added three service aces, five digs and five blocks to her total. Crimes saved her best performance for last, as she hit .377 and tied a career-high 27 kills in the upset win over No. 17 Ohio. In the 3-2 win, the 6-3 middle blocker led the team in kills, while ranking second with six blocks (2 solo, 4 assist). Crimes finished the tournament having hit over .350 in every match. they open conference play this weekend when they travel to the central
