Fall Season Tickets Now on Sale LONG BEACH, CA-- Long Beach State Athletics announced that fall season tickets are now on sale, with women's volleyball season tickets starting at $75 a piece and women's soccer season tickets at $36. The women's volleyball team is coming off a 26-6 season, and yet another NCAA Tournament appearance, while women's soccer is coming off its best season to date, at 14-5-1, winning the Big West regular season title. Brian Gimmillaro's volleyball squad will tangle with eight teams which advanced to the 2006 NCAA Tournament, including home matches against national powers Stanford, Washington, Florida and the University of San Diego. The home schedule begins on August 24 and 25 against the Toreros and the Cardinal. "This is a great home schedule," said Gimmillaro. "It's not very often you can get this many quality teams on your home schedule. Not only quality home conference opponents in Cal Poly, UC Santa Barbara and Pacific, but bringing in Stanford, Florida, Washington and the University of San Diego. This is a rare opportunity for everyone to see many of the best teams in the country at the Walter Pyramid. This will be the first West Coast appearance for the University of Florida. I am very happy they consented to come to Long Beach." The soccer team will open the regular season on August 31, before returning home to host Utah, who were as high as No. 10 last year, on September 2. The Utes are one of four teams to reach the NCAA second round last year on the schedule. The 49ers will also host Big-12 foes, Oklahoma and Baylor on September 14 and 16 and USC on September 28, a member of the NCAA second round contingent. |
