49ers Blank Gauchos in Finale

49ers Finish Regular Season With a Bang Bridgette Pagano (20-11) picked up her 20th win and her 10th complete game shutout of the season as she gave up just two hits and a walk while striking out four. Breezy Goad homered for the 49ers, accounting for the only run of the game. Jennifer Davis (14-14) was also impressive on the mound for the Gauchos as she gave up just three hits and one walk while striking out three. Breezy Goad broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the second inning with a two-out solo homerun, her third of the season. Pagano had a no-hitter heading into the fourth inning but Davis smacked a two-out single up the middle. UCSB had only four batters reach base and only once did they have a runner in scoring position as Pagano was able to silence the Gaucho bats. The 49ers, who have advanced to the NCAA Regionals in the last four seasons and 17 times overall, will have to wait and see if they receive an at-large bid with the selection show taking place on Sunday, May 13 between 12-1 pm (PDT). The NCAA selection show will be aired on ESPNews.
