49ers Salvage Loss With a 3-0 Shutout Win Over the Titans In game one, Bridgette Pagano (12-9) took the loss allowing three earned runs on six hits, two walks and four hit batters. Lacy Tyler, Jessica Beaver and Franciska Morlet each had a hit for the 49ers. Candice Baker (15-8) went six innings giving up two earned runs on two hits and five walks while striking out seven and Brooke Weekley picked up her third save of the year for the Titans. Despite being held hitless for the first five innings, the 49ers took an early 1-0 lead in the second. Beaver led the inning off with a walk, but was picked off at first by Kiki Munoz. Candice Baker then walked Panita Thanatharn, beaned Brooke LeSage, walked Ashley Levine and allowed her fourth walk of the inning to Morlet, forcing in Thanatharn. The Titans' bats wouldn't be kept quiet for much longer as they pushed two runs across in the fourth inning thanks to an RBI double from Katie Gollhardt and an RBI single from Baker. The Titans were able to put one more run on the board in the fifth inning when Gollhardt singled home Whitney Kroh. That extra run proved to be the winning run as the 49ers threatened in the sixth with Beaver's single scoring Tyler who had singled earlier in the inning. Kelly Cross (6-6) tossed a three-hit shutout for the 49ers striking out six batters en route to the 3-0 victory in game two. The 49ers registered eight hits, including four doubles, and were led by Jessica Beaver who went 2-for-2 with a walk and an RBI. The Beach struck in the first inning when Tyler doubled with two outs and scored on an RBI double from Beaver. The 49ers scored again in the fourth when a Breezy Goad single plated Brooke LeSage and The Beach scored one more in the sixth inning with Whitney Radcliff's RBI double scoring Morlet. The rubber game will take place tomorrow at 1 pm at the 49er Softball Complex.
