NEW YORK, NY-- Long Beach State senior guard Aaron Nixon (Cleveland, OH)
was selected on Monday as a 2006-07 Associated Press Honorable Mention
All-American. Nixon led the 49ers to a 24-8 mark and the 2007 Big West
Conference regular season and tournament championships. He was selected
as the Big West Player of the Year and was the MVP of the Big West Tournament.
Nixon led the 49ers in scoring at 18.8 points per game and hist 81 made
three-pointers this season were second-most in school history. He finished
his two-year career with 1,027 points, just the 16th player in school
history to reach 1,000 career points.
Nixon is the first 49er to earn All-America honors since 1980 when Michael
Wiley and Francois Wise were both honorable mention All-Americans.
