Perry Named to First Team, Quaresma Second and Bolt Third

LONG BEACH-- Long Beach State soccer players Amanda Perry, Katelyn Quaresma and Hayley Bolt were each named to CoSIDA's Academic All-District teams, as the 49ers prepare for their final two regular season games and a chance at winning their second-straight Big West Conference regular season title.

Senior defender Amanda Perry (Fresno) was named Academic All-District for the third-straight year moving up to the first team for the first time. Perry, who carries a 4.0 GPA in kinesiology, was a second team selection the last two years and after being on of 50 players to try out four years ago and walking on, is currently starting in the backline for the 49ers.

Senior forward Katelyn Quaresma (Manteca) was named to the second team following a 3.91 GPA in psychology and a minor in business. Quaresma scored the game-winning goal in front of her home crowd at Pacific to open up Big West play and also played against her younger sister, Raeanne, in a win at CS Bakersfield to open up the year.

Junior midfielder Hayley Bolt (Lakewood) was named to the third team thanks to a 3.32 GPA in human development. Bolt, the defending Big West Midfielder of the Year, is a two-time All-Big West performer, who ranks amongst LBSU career leaders in goals, assists and total points.

Perry, Quaresma and fellow senior Rachel Whiteaker will play in their final home matches this weekend when the 49ers (11-6-0, 4-2-0 Big West) host Cal Poly on Friday at 2 p.m. and UC Santa Barbara on Sunday at noon at George Allen Field.
