Dirtbags Began Practice on Monday, January 8 LONG BEACH, CA-- No. 30-ranked Long Beach State will begin official practices on Monday, January 8 at the campus field at 9:30 a.m. to begin the 2007 campaign. The team will have double days for the first week, volleying between the campus field and Blair Field throughout the pre-season. The team will also have intersquads throughout. The team will host its annual Alumni Weekend with the Leadoff Dinner, featuring keynote Jered Weaver on January 25, the alumni golf tournament on January 26 and the alumni games and post-game fundraiser at Acapulco Inn on January 27. Season tickets are also on sale featuring a home schedule that features seven top-30 programs, including home series with USC, Texas, Oral Roberts and CS Fullerton. The season begins February 2-4 against Southern California, with Friday and Sunday's games being played at Dedeaux Field in Los Angeles and Saturday's home opener played at Blair Field. The team will host one alumni game on January 27 with the old timers game starting at 11 a.m. and the Pro Alumni versus the current squad at around 1:30 p.m.
