Crimes Earns Weekly Honor
Junior Averaged 4.33 Kills per Game last Week

IRVINE, CA – Junior Alexis Crimes of the Long Beach State women’s volleyball team was selected as the Big West Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. Crimes earned the weekly distinction in 2004 as well.

The 6-3 middle blocker from Rancho Cucamonga averaged 4.33 kills. 1.33 digs, and 1.16 blocks per game in Long Beach State’s two wins over St. Mary’s and Idaho last weekend at the Walter Pyramid.

Crimes served five straight points vs. St. Mary’s on Thursday, as Long Beach State fought off three straight match points to tie the score at 29-29, before eventually winning the game, 31-29. Crimes posted 15 kills for .417 attack percentage, with five blocks, and a pair of aces in the three-game victory over Idaho on Sept. 9.

For the season, Crimes is averaging 3.06 kills and 1.39 blocks per game.

Long Beach State hosts UNLV on Friday, Sept. 15 at 7:30 p.m.
