Farquhar Named Big West Player of the Week IRVINE, CA-- Long Beach State sophomore forward Dana Farquhar (Redlands) was named the Big West Player of the Week for the second time in her career following the game-winning goal in the 70th minute at Oregon last Friday night. Farquhar and the No. 28-ranked 49ers began the season 2-0-0 for the first time in school-history following wins in Eugene, OR and at Portland State by similar 1-0 scores. This is Farquhar's second conference player of the week honor after previously receiving one as a freshman. Farquhar came off the bench on Friday to score the game-winning goal. The 49ers return home to the Southland for two matches, with their home opener on Friday against Southern Utah at 5 p.m. and at previously top-ranked UCLA on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Beach are in the midst of playing nine of their first 10 matches away from George Allen Field.
