The fourth edition of the championship, featuring countries from North and Central America and the Carribean, will take place at Olympic Stadium in Santo Domingo from July 7 to 9. The U.S. will send a full team to the meet, 86 athletes, who were selected based on their rankings and age following the NCAA Championship. Richardson, an All-American this past year in the decathlon and the Big West Conference's Field Athlete of the Year, will compete on Friday and Saturday in the 10-event championship. Richardson, with a school-record 7605 points this season, ranks 12th amongst all U.S. competitors of any age group. Temidara, a four-time NCAA participant in the high jump and an All-American in the triple jump this past season, his mark of 52'2.75" in the triple jump ranks in the top-20 nationally. Temidara is slated to compete on Friday. The duo helped the 49er men win its first conference title in 30 years and finish tied for 16th at the NCAA Championships. |
