Cow Plop Earns $39,000 for Athletics LONG BEACH, CA-- Yes even in California's fifth largest city, a cow taking a plop is big money. Long Beach State Athletics and six of its athletics teams raised over $39,000 at its second annual Cow Plop Fundraiser on April 29 on George Allen Field. Organized by the women's soccer team, and along with athletes from men's volleyball, women's golf, women's tennis, softball and track and field, tickets were sold for $20 per square. Three winners received cash prizes; Paul Goldberg, who won $500 for the first plop; Dan and Ann Blanco, who won $1000 for the second, and Albert Lotman, who won $2000, for the third. This is the second year in existence for the fundraiser, which raised close to $8,000 for just the women's soccer team last year. |
