49ers Finish Second At Big West Championships
Kay Hoey Finishes In Third Place

MISSION VIEJO, CA-- The No. 32-ranked Long Beach State women's golf team finished in second place at the 2006 Big West Conference Golf Championships at the Tijeras Creek Golf Course in Mission Viejo. The 49ers shot a 308 in Tuesday's final round to finish with a score of 929. UC Irvine won the team title with an 886.

Individually, sophomore Kay Hoey finished in third place with a seven-over 223 (72-76-75). Beth Holtermann tied for 11th place with a 234 (78-81-75) and Katy Barrett (80-78-79) and Josefine Lindbergh (75-83-79) both tied for 18th place with a 237. The overall winner was UC Irvine's Selanee Henderson who shot a three-over 219 (69-75-75). UCI's Jane Chin was second with a 220 (76-74-70).
