Miracle Mile Event Announced

St. Jude's Miracle Mile Event

LONG BEACH, CA-- St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has announced plans for their upcoming Miracle Mile event to be held May 7, 2006. The Coordinator of this year's event isthe Student Athlete Advisory Committee at Long Beach State.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is America's leading childhood cancer research center in terms of the number of patients treated and treatment success. Since its opening in 1962, the cure rate for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), the most common form of childhood cancer, has risen from less than 4% to 90%.

St. Jude is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. No family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay. St. Jude is financially supported by ALSAC, its fundraising organization.
