49ers Finish Fourth At UNLV
Kay Hoey Ties For Fourth Place

LAS VEGAS, NV-- The No. 23-ranked Long Beach State women's golf team finished in fourth place after two rounds of the 2006 UNLV Spring Invitational in Las Vegas, NV at Boulder Creek Golf Club. The 49ers shot a 301 in Wednesday's third and final round to finish with a three-day total of 886. UNLV won the team title with an 879, BYU was second at 882 and Campbell third at 885. BYU shot a 289 in Wednesday's final round to jump from fifth place to second.

Individually, sophomore All-American Kay Hoey tied for fourth place after shooting a one-over 217 (68-72-77). Beth Holtermann tied for 9th place with a 220 (70-76-74) and Josefine Lindbergh tied for 22nd with a 225 (75-72-78). The overall individual winner was Indiana's Shannon Johnson who shot a five-under 211 (68-75-68).

The 49ers will next be in action on April 1-2 at the PING/Arizona State Invitational at the Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, AZ.
