Duo Shines at MPSFs

Jennings, Richardson Highlight MPSFs SEATTLE, WA--Robert Jennings tossed an NCAA provisional weight throw of 63'2.75" to finish second and earn all-conference honors, while Chris Richardson is sitting in second place in the heptathlon with a score of 3113 after the first day of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. Richardson is in line to put forth a provisional NCAA mark after winning the long jump (23'9.50" and finishing third in the shot put (45'10"). Richardson also qualified for tomorrow's regular long jump by finishing eighth. The 49er also had three school-records set, in the women's distance medley and by Ludi Valdez and Jimmy Grabow in the 5000-meter. Jill Reynolds mark of 12'7.5" in the pole vault (for 10th at the championships) tied for second all-time at LBSU. Two 49ers qualified for Saturday's championship races, with Jessica Branker finishing tied for sixth with a time of 7.61 in the 60-meter, while Jaclyn Pedersen was 12th in the mile with a time of 4:56.30. Jimmy Grabow finished fifth in the 5000-meter with an NCAA provisional time of 14:01.10. The conference championships continue on Saturday on the campus of the University of Washington campus. |
