Bolt Earns Big West Player of the Week Nod IRVINE, CA-- The first place women's soccer team were awarded for their accomplishments this past weekend when sophomore midfielder Hayley Bolt (Lakewood/Los Alamitos HS) was named the Big West Player of the Week following the game-winning assist and goal during the first weekend of conference play. For the former Big West Freshman of the Year, Bolt earned her first weekly award following a goal and an assist in the first half of the team's 2-0 win over Pacific on Friday and the game-winning header in the 69th minute on Sunday against CS Northridge. Bolt currently leads the conference in goals scored (5) and is fourth in overall points (12) to teammate Kim Silos. The 49ers, at 10-2-0, have achieved 10 wins faster than any other team in school-history, while their 2-0-0 start to league play matches the 2001 team for the best start to conference play. The Beach are next in action when they travel to the Central Coast and play at UC Santa Barbara on Friday at 7 p.m. and at Cal Poly on Sunday at 1 p.m. |
