Trio Impressive at New Mexico Indoor

Trio of Men Have Strong Start ALBUQUERQUE, NM-- Ronald Carter set a school-record in the triple jump and was an NCAA provisional qualifier at the New Mexico Indoor with a jump of 51'6.25", while John Temidara just missed out on his own provisional mark, winning the high jump with a mark of 6'11.5" at the team's first competition of the year. Decathlete Chris Richardson was impressive in his first LBSU event, finishing third with the No. 3-best 49er long jump (43'6") and the fifth-best 60-meter hurdle time (8.56) and just missed the top-10 in the shot put with a throw of 47'11." "Ronald Carter had a great day, John came up big and Chris was fantastic and really had a strong start to his 49er career," said Director of Track and Field Andy Sythe. Carter also had the fourth-best long jump, finishing just behind Richardson with a distance of 23'3.25", highlighting a strong day. On the women's side, pole vaulter Jill Reynolds finished third, just missing her personal-best with a mark of 11'11.75", while Jaime Cuthbert-Allen ran a personal-best of 9.27 in the 60-meter hurdles and Charlene Deardorf was 13th of 39 runners in the 60-meter hurdles of 7.81. |
