Silos Named Big West Player of the Week IRVINE, CA-- Long Beach State freshman Kim Silos (Ontario) was named the Big West Conference's Player of the Week following two game winning goals in overtime last week. Silos, who leads the 49ers with five goals, tallied the winning score in the 98th minute Wednesday at Fresno State, before scoring the final score in the 105th minute on Sunday against San Diego State. Silos' team has not lost since the season opener, going an impressive and school-record setting 7-1-1 on the year. LBSU has three matches on tap this week, beginning at No. 21-ranked USC on Tuesday at 3 p.m., before opening up conference play on Friday at Pacific at 7 p.m. LBSU closes out the week at CS Northridge on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Earlier this year Silos was named the 49er Classic Offensive MVP following the program's third-ever hat trick. Silos is just the sixth 49er in school-history to be named Big West Player of the Week. |
