Busy Pre-Season for the 49ers

Be the First to See the New Look 49ers LONG BEACH, CA-- Long Beach State women's soccer, boasting the 15th best recruiting class in the nation, will hold three previews of this year's team over the next three weeks, beginning with the Black and Gold inter squad game on Sunday, August 14 at 11 a.m., the team's scrimmage against Azusa Pacific on Saturday, August 20 at 5 p.m., and an alumnae game on Sunday, August 21 at 11 a.m. The 49ers open the regular season at UCLA on August 26, and then return home Tuesday, August 30 for a contest against San Jose State. The 49ers return all-conference performers defender Natalie Messina (Santa Rosa) and midfielder Erin Empting (Fountain Valley) and welcome Los Alamitos High products Hayley Bolt and Julie Megorden from the No. 1-ranked Griffens, two-time prep All-American Kim Silos (Ontario) and CIF Player of the Year Sara Baca (Ventura). Sahar Haghdan (Palmdale) and Tiffany Vaught (Ladera Ranch) are also part of the Big West's top-rated recruiting class, according to soccerbuzz.com. Second year Head Coach Mauricio Ingrassia will also host the second annual Golden Goal Fundraiser and dinner on August 19 in the Ukleja Room.
