Australian National Hits The Beach LONG BEACH, CA-- The Long Beach State sprints program further bolstered their 2006 lineup with the addition of Australian sprinter Kylie Wildman. Wildman, who was a freshman at Southwest Missouri State in 2005, had a personal-best of 13.80, which was a World Youth Qualifying time in the 100-meter hurdles. Wildman has been ranked in the top-six in her age group since 1999, including being ranked sixth in the state in 2003-04 and second nationally amongst fellow under-19's. As a sprinter and hurdler, she will work directly under the tutelage of Assistant Coach Yvonne Scott-Williams. "Kylie brings in a great deal of talent. She has the goals and the work ethic that will no doubt take her to the next level," said Director of Track and Field Andy Sythe. "Kylie is a big time athlete. She fits nicely into our plan for bringing a conference title. She will undoubtably develop into a strong performer at this level. We also see a bright future for her on the national scene collegiately." The 2006 sprints class also includes prep star Miranda Garrido (Tracy/Merrill West HS), one of the top prep sprinters in the state and Long Beach City College hurdler Armond Goodin, a state runner-up in the JUCO Championships. |
