Hoey selected as Player of the Month Big West Conference gave acknowledgement to the star freshman.
April 7, 2005 LONG BEACH, CA - Kay Hoey was selected player of the month for March by the Big West Conference. Hoey, who won her second consecutive tournament this past Tuesday, is ranked 10th in the nation with a scoring average of 73.80 per event.
Hoey moved up six spots in rankings in the past week and was ranked 75th before her first win of the year at the UC Irvine Invitational on March 15. She has six top 10s for the year and shot a career-low 68 in the second round of the Fresno State Invitational en route to victory at an even par 216. Hoey also consistantly ranks among the top of her team since the year started in September.
The 49ers will be action this Saturday at the Peg Barnard Invitational in Stanford, CA at the Stanford Golf Course, followed by the conference championships on April 18-19 at Tijeras Creek Golf Club in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA.
