Duo Excels at Long Beach Invitational

49ers Achieve 18 Top-Five Finishes at LB Invite LONG BEACH, CA-- Long Beach State had 18 top-five finishes at its own Long Beach State Invitational on Saturday, with Crystal Roethlisberger qualifying for the Big West Championships with a win in the 5,000-meter (18:08.11), while Jill Reynolds won the pole vault (11'1.75"). Ten individuals finished in the top-three, including second place performances from: Holly Lipscomb's in the triple jump (38'1.75"), Tim Burnham's seasonal-best of 15'7" in the pole vault, Kellen Boaz' shot put (51'8.50") and Steve Holland's hammer (190'2"). LBSU also had four third place finishes. Danielle Millerbehind Roethlisberger in 5,000-meter (18:29.40), Ronald Carter in the triple jump (49'0.75"), David Sampson in the shot put (51'4.25"), behind Boaz, and Robert Jennings in the discus with a throw of 161'11". Results from the two-day Mt. SAC Invitational will be available on Sunday, with results from the 5,000-meter and sprints, amongst others. |
