49er Season of First's Ends Just Shy of NCAA's LONG BEACH, CA-- The 2005 campaign for Long Beach State women's soccer (12-5-3, 3-3-1 Big West) will go down as a building block to the future in which a number of records were broken and a number of foundations were laid. The team started upwards of eight freshmen on the season, pulling off just its second win in school-history over a top-25 opponent (Cal Poly). • First-ever national ranking (No. 25) The career charts also took a beating, as Bolt's 70 shots (8th) and Silos' 68 (9th) are in the top-10, as are their total goals of 10 (seventh) and eight (14th). Bolt's eight assists is ninth-best all-time, while Silos' 25 points is ninth-best as well. Ramos now has the school's best goals against average (0.66) and sixth-most minutes. Ramos' 10.5 shutouts is also a career-record. Meghan Hartwyk (2002-05) the team's lone senior leaves the school third all-time in goals against average (1.35), third in shutouts (8), fourth in saves (95) and second in minutes (2532:53). |
